THE FRIEND MOVEMENT
Mission Statement
Friend Movement inspires people to prevent bullying by enabling them to be a better friend; providing entertaining and educational resources, cultivating global partnerships, and leveraging the latest social media technology.
What is FRIEND film?
Friend, is more than a film – it’s a movement. A movement to prevent bullying by being a better FRIEND to one another. The team includes, but is not limited to: New York Times acclaimed Director/writer Elliot London, Ugly Betty’s Alec Mapa, Tony Award winning Broadway Producer Carl Moellenberg, Top Hollywood Manager Jerry Silverhardt, Mother of Bullying Victim Ane Shields, NPR/WXXI Radio Personality Robert Hammond, and myself. We are asking the community to join us in this movement by being a FRIEND today.
The film will be shot in Tennessee June 2013 At the same time, we will be working with educators in the community to build anti-bullying/pro-friend workshops. These workshops will accompany and compliment Friend film while on the road for its school tour, both nationally and internationally.
Our official website, http://www.friendmovement.com, will become home to resources for educators, parents, and youth alike that are in need of assistance with the topic of bullying. It will be broken down by geographical location and types of resources. In addition, there will be information about Friend film, links to our you-tube and social media outlets, and to our community partners; united as one to take a stand against BULLYING.
Together WE CAN and WE WILL – make a difference.

A friend sent me this link, and though hetero, i’m in complete support of anyone being completely free to be who they ARE, who they want to BE, because freedom is for EVERYONE. This is a truly moving testament from a survivor of bullying, who is originally just trying to be their natural born self. Rock on, Joseph, and thank you so much for sharing this.
