I would like to make the argument that we do not have “sexual orientations,” per se, but rather have “personal orientations,” based upon the entireties of who we are as spiritual, soulful, and intellectual human beings. Sexual Orientation suggests that relationships are all about and rooted in sex, but they are so much more than that. I was recently honored by The Urban Dictionary’s publication of my “personal orientation” concept. I hope that you all will begin to use it!

Thanks for sharing this concept. I think it might prove very valuable and serviceable for many.
Interesting twist of words. I have always known this as my personal belief system, or personal responsibility. Encompasing the body mind and spirit is always, i believe ambiguous to non sexual folks.
Most ” sexual oriented ” individuals seem to be more enlightened.
There is no way around it; deep thinking about how one fits into the traditional religious society of america and manage to maintain a faith sytem of any design is powerfull. Having been openly gay since 1976, it would have proved effective attaching orientaion. I support your endevours, ” young man “.

Sometimes, it seems that so much is based on ’sex’ that people forget that there is so much more to others than just ’sex’
This term really encompasses a person’s entire being, rather than focusing on one area of a person’s life.
