GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation

by Ronnie on June 23, 2010

My business partner, Stephanie A. Jones, JD, LLM, MPH, Esquire, and I work with smaller, underfunded charities – which focus on public health education and promotion (“Hate Crime is HUMAN CRIME”) in underserved, marginalized populations.

We decided to start GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation  (“GNW”) to “help (these) charities help themselves.” To be the beneficiary of GNW’s support, each charity must be personally vetted for institutional and leadership character by us.

GNW “helps charities help themselves” in three areas of support.  GNW contributes funds, talent and volunteers to support GNW Charities’ own fundraising budgets, adds professional and academic credentials to complement the GNW Charities’ own professional expertise in applied field work approaches to public health education and promotion, and develops quantitative and qualitative research to provide the epidemiologically and methodologically sound statistical research to enable GNW Charities to write scientifically-supported grant proposals.

Hey Ronnie,

Working for a non-for-profit agency in Kansas City, I truly admire your initiative in creating GNW to help charities help themselves which in turn help those in greatest need.

I welcome you to visit our website and take a look at what we are doing to help and assist the underserved and marginalized populations in Kansas City. http://www.mattierhodes.org

Hope to hear from you soon!

Really like your blog, Ronnie! – especially your idea about “personal orientation”. I thumbed you up on Stumble. Keep up the good work :)

(I’m a straight Australian woman in Melbourne, Australia – a great city you must visit some time!)
